Ostrich Eggs - The ostrich
is the largest living bird species. It is farmed domestically
throughout the world. Ostrich eggs, although the smallest
eggs relative to the adult bird’s size, are the
largest and most durable eggs in the world. Mature females
lay between 40 and 70 eggs in a laying season of which
only 45% hatch. For thousands of years, the infertile
eggs have been collected for practical and artisanal
uses, such as paintings, dyeing and carving.
Outpost Original continues this long-standing
tradition, creating unique art pieces from eggs dyed
and finished in a beautiful range of colors. Although
consistently large, the eggs vary in size.
