We import only certified Burchell zebra hides for floor rugs, furniture coverings and accessories. The Burchell zebra population, also known as the Plains zebra, thrives in the protected wildlife reserves of the African savannah, unlike the Grevy’s and Mountain zebra species which are considered endangered.

To maintain the delicate natural balance between the animals and their habitat, park and government authorities must undertake a controlled annual culling of the herd. The sale of hides from this culling generates additional income which is used to sustain the conservation program.

No two hides are alike, each one varies in pattern and coloration (from light brown shades to deep brownish-black stripes) and may show the scrapes and scars from encounters on the plains – an authentic expression of the distinctiveness of the natural world.
